Nicole Ferguson, DVM, MS received her veterinary degree from the University of Florida, College of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. She completed a large animal medicine and surgery internship at the Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph in 1999. Private practice experience included mixed animal practice in North Warren, PA in 1999-2000, equine ambulatory experience in Powhatan, VA in 2000-2001 and small animal experience in Daytona Beach and Winter Springs, FL in 2001-2003. In July 2006, Dr. Ferguson completed a three-year, large animal internal medicine residency at Purdue University, School of Veterinary Medicine, where she received a Master of Science Degree in Veterinary Sciences. Prior to opening Crossroads Veterinary Services, LLC, Dr. Ferguson worked for a short period of time in mixed practice in Cornelia, GA.
Dr. Ferguson’s main interests are in all aspects of internal medicine, preventive medicine, dentistry, parasitology and infectious diseases, with a particular interest in camelids, equine and small ruminants, as well as exotics. Dr. Ferguson strives to maintain up to date information on diagnostic and therapeutic modalities by attending yearly continuing education conferences. Dr. Ferguson is furthering her knowledge in exotic animal medicine, including avian species, by being a member of the Association of Avian Veterinarians. Dr. Ferguson is also a member of the Humane Society Veterinary Medical Association and plans on volunteering her services to their cause in the future.
Dr. Ferguson is married to Corey Morrison , a multimedia producer and editor. Corey is president of his company, Studioflux Productions, LLC., based in Lexington, GA (www.studiofluxproductions.com) but with clients around the world. They have a 4 year old daughter, Isabelle, and 8 month old son, Adrien, who are the center of their lives. Dr. Ferguson is fluent in French and has a variety of large and small animals at home, including horses, goats, dogs, cats, miniature horses, fish and chickens. In addition to her family in Georgia, Dr. Ferguson's mother lives in France, her younger sister is a statistician for the FDA's Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition in Maryland and her older sister works for Handicap International in Brussels, Belgium.
